New Beginner Card Offer Worth $1,500+

Hey Reader,

I'm interrupting my vacation in Spain (life is rough, I know), because my favorite beginner travel card has a new offer worth $1,500+. If you've been a member of the Inside the Upgrade family for a while, you know I rarely promote specific cards, so you can trust this is a good deal. I personally already have this card so I'm bummed I don't qualify, but I hope some of you are able to take advantage of it!

Learn More Here

I have to be slightly cryptic here as I'm not allowed to name the card over email and I'm a born-and-bred rule follower, but you can find it by clicking the "learn more" links throughout.

Now let's dive into the details of the deal ✈️🥂

What's the Offer? 🤔

Right now, you can earn 60,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first three months, plus $300 in travel credits. The $300 travel credit is the part that's so unique here. Normally you only get 60,000 bonus points, so a $300 credit on a card that only costs $95 a year means they're basically paying you to get this one.

Why is this "Worth it?" 💰

Let me do a little math for you—right now, the points are valued at 2.05 cents per point by The Points Guy. So, 60,000 points are worth approximately $1,230. Add the $300 travel credit, and you’re looking at a total value of $1,530. That’s a ton of value for just a $95 annual fee.

With 60,000 points, you can unlock some pretty great travel experiences:

  • An international business-class flight, such as flying from New York to Paris in style with Air France (I regularly send deals for business class deals that cost >60k points).
  • A two-night stay at a luxury Hyatt property like the Park Hyatt Maldives or Andaz Costa Rica, valued at $500+ per night.
  • Round-trip flights to Europe in economy using points with airline partners like United or Air Canada.

Whether you’re booking flights, hotels, or transferring to travel partners, these 60,000 points can take you further than you might expect.

Why I Always Recommend This Card 👍

Whenever someone asks me where to start with travel cards, this is the one I point them to. It has a low annual fee and the points are super flexible. I have a complete guide to them here for free.

So, if you haven’t picked this card up yet, this is the perfect time!

Hope this helps and feel free to reply if you have questions!

Cheers to your next adventure ✈️🥂,

Deryn and the team at Inside the Upgrade

Hey Reader, I get a lot of questions this time of year about paying taxes with a credit card. Can you do it? Does it actually earn good points? Is the fee worth it? Here’s the deal: yes, you can pay your taxes with a credit card. And yes, there’s a fee. But in the right scenario, it can absolutely be worth it—especially if you’re working toward a big welcome bonus or using a card that earns valuable points. Like, roundtrip-to-Europe-in-business-class level points. 👉 In fact, this is one of...

Hey Reader,Well, it finally happened—Southwest just announced it’s cutting the two free checked bags policy that made it a fan favorite. So what now? Are we all doomed to pay $35 per bag forever? Not quite. I put together a guide on how to still fly with free checked bags, even if you’re not loyal to any one airline. From credit cards that reimburse fees to airline-specific perks, this article has everything you need to keep your luggage (and your budget) under control. Maybe in an effort to...

luxury airport lounge

Hey Reader, Yesterday, I flew to L.A. and was reminded why I love lounge access so, so much. After braving the long lines to self-tag my checked bag (I'm traveling for 3 months, so I just couldn't didn't want to make a carry-on work), I made it into the Amex Centurion lounge. The Centurion lounges are a thing of beauty (if you can get in). In addition to delicious food, a full bar, and beautiful furniture, each one has a special "member service". At JFK, it's an Equinox Body Lab mini...
